My Passion, Journey and Experience by Design
(Strategy and Execution)
Currently,
I am focussed on working with start-ups solving big challenges. My career experience has focused on the strategy and execution individually with Solution Architecture, Financial Architecture and Marketing/Sales Architecture. In my work with start-ups, I have developed an approach to growth success with Value Creation Architecture. Value Creation Architecture is a repeatable methodology to exponentially increase the probability and speed for start-up success. It brings together the complexity of the problem definition and transforms it into executable actions with targeted and measurable results. It starts with defining the business challenge, envisioning the possibility of an unconstrained future state. The synchronizing and interrelationship of Solution, Financial, and Marketing/Sales “Architecture” creates a framework for measured success. Learn More about Value Architecture
The Journey, Experience by Design
What an incredible journey. It seems like yesterday I was graduating from the first college program in Canada to envision computers from a holistic systems architecture perspective, integrating software and electrical engineering. University had to wait because this applied opportunity was too fresh to miss. Seven industry leading companies, including IBM, designed the program with the college because the existing University / College programs were not delivering the deep and broad thinking they required. As the only student representative asked to sit on the College’s Industry Advisory Board with leaders from those seven companies it gave me the unique opportunity to work closely with these industry leaders. To my surprise I was also the only graduate to be offered employment with all seven companies. That is how my IBM story began.
My Experience,
IBM
I progressed through a rapid and deep technical learning curve in complex and large banking systems during the day and most weekends for unlimited overtime and experience (working 50 of 52 weekends). I rapidly developed my technical capabilities and become designated country support. With an insatiable hunger for knowledge, I also began my business degree in night classes at York University and achieved a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Administrative Studies and a Certificate in Professional Marketing.
My career in IBM resembles a career at 100 different companies in every industry. Having experience in all the IBM divisions (service delivery, consulting, software, hardware, cloud) and progressive roles in technical and consulting delivering, then leadership in sales and marketing of professional services, hardware and software, with a progression to executive leadership positions with national delivery and sales responsibilities. I was also asked to join a global elite team of Strategic Deal Makers who took responsibility for very large complex and strategic deals. The responsibility included technical architecture, financial strategy / architecture, and client facing contractual legal negotiations. This small global elite team drove 60% of global software sales.
By Design
I have had the most incredible experience immersing myself into the top Fortune 100 companies in every industry. My clients became my world. My passion was to rapidly understand their unique strengths and challenges and my personal goal was to help them achieve greater success. I am proud of the many collaborative projects we created that became a “first of a kind” resulting in value creation and were recognized globally for their breakthrough innovation. As I went through the industries some of my fondest and impactful experiences were in:

Retail with Walmart, P&G, Homedepot, Canadian Tire,
Government with the Ontario Government, City of Toronto,
Healthcare with The Ottawa Hospital, North York General Hospital, ehealth Ontario,

My joy of giving back also extends to numerous start-up companies and community Boards including Mohawk College MEDIC applied medical research Board, Whitby Yacht Club Board as their Director of Sailing Education and the Ontario Sailing Provincial Board.
My life belief is simple
